Real estate investor & Business Professional
Sam is a real estate investor and leader focused on discipline, growth, and strong relationships, with a background in residential and commercial property.
Sam Lagod began his career in sales before moving into leasing and investment, gaining experience in deal negotiation, market analysis, and property operations. He later co-founded Amicus Properties, a firm focused on student housing across the Southeast, where he played a key role in managing teams, overseeing acquisitions, and driving portfolio growth.
After graduating from Marist High School, Lagod attended the College of Charleston, where he earned a degree in Business and Hospitality in 2014. During those years, he worked as a bartender and server at Mellow Mushroom. It was not just a college job. It helped him learn how to read people, communicate clearly, and stay calm in fast-paced environments.
Lagod’s leadership approach is simple, but not easy. It centers on discipline, consistency, and surrounding yourself with the right people. He does not frame growth as a single event. Instead, he sees it as a process. “When I’m growing personally and maintaining strong relationships, it allows me to perform better professionally,” he explains.
Lagod spends as much time as possible outdoors. He is an avid surfer, golfer, and tennis player. He also plays in a men’s softball league during the week. Much of his free time is centered on health. Physical fitness, mental clarity, and emotional balance are part of his routine. He also gives back to the community. During the winter, he volunteers with the varsity wrestling program at Marist High School.
